300 kg of ghost nets lifted from the seabed off Quriyat

Quriyat Divers removed around 300 kg of abandoned fishing nets from the seabed off Quriyat, at depths of 7 to 24 m, after a fisherman reported nets trapped at a fishing site.

The team first carried out a field assessment to determine the location and condition of the nets and the equipment and number of divers needed to remove them safely. Six divers took part.

The operation brings the team's environmental initiatives since its founding in 2019 to 54.
